Effects and efficacy: This product is used for the treatment of hypertension.

Usage and dosage: The dosage of this product should be individualized, and the recommended starting dose is usually 20 mg, once a day. For patients who still need to further lower their blood pressure after 2 weeks of treatment, the dose can be increased to 40 mg. Doses greater than 40 mg have not shown a greater antihypertensive effect. When the daily dose is the same, twice-daily dosing does not show superiority compared to once-daily dosing. For the elderly and patients with moderate to significant liver and kidney impairment (creatinine clearance < 40mL/minute) taking this product, there is no need to adjust the dose. Olmesartan medoxomil must be used under close medical supervision in patients with possible hypovolemia (e.g., patients receiving diuretic therapy, especially those with renal impairment), and a lower starting dose may be considered.
