Cefotaxime sodium injection

Functions and indications:
Used for pneumonia and other lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, meningitis, sepsis, abdominal infections, pelvic infections, skin and soft tissue infections, reproductive tract infections, bone and joint infections caused by sensitive bacteria; can be used as a drug of choice for pediatric meningitis.
Usage and Dosage:
The dosage and usage of this product may vary for different dosage forms and specifications. Please read the specific drug instructions for use or follow the doctor’s advice. Ceftriaxone Sodium for Injection: 1. Adults: 2-6g per day, divided into 2-3 times of intravenous injection or intravenous drip; 2-3g every 6-8 hours for severe infections, and the maximum daily dose does not exceed 12g. For the treatment of uncomplicated pneumococcal pneumonia or acute urinary tract infection, 1g every 12 hours. 2. Newborns: 50mg/kg every 12 hours for those aged 7 days or less; 50mg/kg every 8 hours for those born more than 7 days. The dose for treating meningitis patients can be increased to 75mg/kg every 6 hours, all administered intravenously. 3. Patients with severe renal impairment should reduce the dosage appropriately. When serum creatinine exceeds 424 μmol/L (4.8 mg) or creatinine clearance is less than 20 ml/min, the maintenance dose of this product should be halved; when serum creatinine exceeds 751 μmol/L (8.5 mg), the maintenance dose is 1/4 of the normal amount. Patients who need hemodialysis take 0.5-2 g a day. However, one dose should be added after dialysis.
Adverse reactions:
The incidence of adverse reactions is low, about 3%-5%. 1. There are rash and drug fever, phlebitis, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. 2. Mild increase in alkaline phosphatase or serum aminotransferase, temporary increase in blood urea nitrogen and creatinine, etc. 3. Leukopenia, acidosis or thrombocytopenia are rare. 4. Occasionally, headache, numbness, dyspnea and facial flushing are seen. 5. Mucosal candidiasis may occur in very few patients.
Contraindications:
This product is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to cephalosporins or have a history of anaphylactic shock or immediate reaction to penicillin.
