Effects and efficacy:
Used to prevent and treat secondary wound infection of small-area, mild burns.
Usage and dosage:
For topical use, apply directly to the wound or make the cream into an oil sand cloth for application. Once a day.
Adverse reactions:
It is slightly irritating locally and may occasionally cause transient pain. This product may cause various adverse reactions after local absorption, which are the same as those when sulfonamides are used systemically, including: allergic reactions are more common, which may manifest as drug eruptions. In severe cases, exudative erythema multiforme, exfoliative dermatitis and bullous epidermolysis atrophic dermatitis may occur; there are also serum sickness-like reactions such as photosensitivity reactions, drug fever, joint and muscle pain, fever, etc. Neutropenia or deficiency, thrombocytopenia and aplastic anemia. Patients may show sore throat, fever, pallor and bleeding tendency. Hemolytic anemia and hemoglobinuria. Patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency are prone to occur after using sulfonamides, which is more common in newborns and children than in adults. Hyperbilirubinemia and neonatal kernicterus. Sulfonamides compete with bilirubin for protein binding sites. Free bilirubin may increase. Neonatal liver function is imperfect, so hyperbilirubinemia and neonatal jaundice are more likely to occur. Kernicterus may occur occasionally. Liver damage. Jaundice and liver dysfunction may occur, and acute liver necrosis may occur in severe cases. Kidney damage. Crystalluria, hematuria, and tubular urine may occur. Occasionally, patients may experience serious adverse reactions such as interstitial nephritis or renal tubular necrosis. Nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, headache, fatigue, etc. Generally, the symptoms are mild and do not affect continued medication. Occasionally, patients develop Clostridium difficile enteritis, and the drug needs to be discontinued. Goiter and hypofunction occasionally occur. Central nervous system toxicity may occasionally occur, manifested as mental confusion, disorientation, hallucinations, euphoria, or depression. Once it occurs, the drug must be discontinued immediately.
