This drug can lower blood sugar. This product is suitable for blood sugar control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes: Adult patients with type 2 diabetes who still have poor blood sugar control after receiving metformin and/or sulfonylurea treatment on the basis of diet control and exercise; It is suitable for reducing the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in adult patients with type 2 diabetes with cardiovascular disease.
Dosage and administration:
Semaglutide injection: The starting dose is 0.25 mg once a week. After 4 weeks, it should be increased to 0.5 mg once a week. After at least 4 weeks of treatment with 0.5 mg once a week, the dose can be increased to 1 mg once a week to further improve blood sugar control. This product 0.25 mg is not a maintenance dose. It is not recommended to exceed 1 mg per week; Use in special populations Renal impairment: No dose adjustment is required for patients with mild, moderate or severe renal impairment. There is limited experience in the use of semaglutide in patients with severe renal impairment. This product is not recommended for patients with end-stage renal disease; Liver impairment: No dose adjustment is required for patients with liver impairment. There is limited experience in the use of semaglutide in patients with severe liver impairment. Caution should be exercised when using this product to treat such patients; Usage: Semaglutide injection should be injected once a week and can be injected at any time of the day, without the need to be administered according to mealtimes. Semaglutide injection is administered by subcutaneous injection, and the injection site can be the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. No dose adjustment is required when the injection site is changed. This product cannot be injected intravenously or intramuscularly. If necessary, the date of weekly administration can be changed, as long as the interval between two doses is at least 2 days (48 hours). After selecting a new administration time, the drug should continue to be administered once a week; the specific operation method during injection is detailed in the schematic diagram in the relevant drug instructions. Please strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for details. Semaglutide tablets: Generally, 3 mg/day is used as the starting dose. After stable use for 1 month, if the patient can tolerate it, it is transferred to 7 mg/day. If 7 mg/day cannot stabilize the patient’s blood sugar for more than 30 days, the dose can be increased to 14 mg/day. Take the medicine with boiled water, preferably at least 30 minutes before the first meal of the day. To ensure good drug absorption, do not eat, drink or take with other drugs at least 30 minutes before and after taking the drug.
