Primaquine Phosphate Tablets

Function and indication: Mainly used to cure vivax malaria and control the spread of malaria. Usage and dosage: 1. Common dosage for adults: Oral, calculated according to primaquine. 3 tablets per day for 7 consecutive days to cure vivax malaria. When used to kill falciparum malaria gametocytes, 2 tablets per day for 3 consecutive days. 2. Common dosage for children: Oral, calculated according to primaquine, 0.39 mg/kg per day for 14 consecutive days to cure vivax malaria. When used to kill falciparum malaria gametocytes, the same dose is used for 3 consecutive days. Adverse reactions: 1. The adverse reactions of this product are higher than those of other antimalarial drugs. When the daily dosage exceeds 30 mg (matrix), fatigue, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and other adverse reactions are prone to occur; a few people may experience drug fever, granulocytopenia, etc., which can be recovered after stopping the drug. 2. People with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency may develop acute hemolytic anemia when taking this product. This hemolytic reaction is limited to aging red blood cells and can stop developing on its own, which is generally not serious. Once it occurs, the drug should be discontinued and appropriate symptomatic treatment should be given. When glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase is deficient, it will cause methemoglobinemia, cyanosis, chest tightness and other symptoms. Methylene blue 1-2mg/kg is injected intravenously to quickly improve the symptoms.
Contraindications:
It is contraindicated for patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.
