Effects:
Common dosage forms of posaconazole are enteric-coated tablets and oral suspension. Prevention of invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections Enteric-coated tablets and oral suspension are suitable for preventing patients aged 13 years and over who are at increased risk of invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections due to severe immunodeficiency. These patients include patients with graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) or patients with hematological malignancies with prolonged neutropenia caused by chemotherapy. Treatment of oropharyngeal candidiasis Oral suspension is suitable for the treatment of oropharyngeal candidiasis, including oropharyngeal candidiasis refractory to itraconazole and/or fluconazole.
Usage and dosage:
Prevention of invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections Loading dose of posaconazole enteric-coated tablets: 300 mg (3 tablets of 100 mg enteric-coated tablets), twice a day on the first day. Maintenance dose: 300 mg (3 100 mg enteric-coated tablets), starting on the second day, once a day. The course of treatment depends on the degree of recovery from neutropenia or immunosuppression. Posaconazole oral suspension 200 mg (5 ml), 3 times a day. The course of treatment depends on the degree of recovery from neutropenia or immunosuppression. Oropharyngeal candidiasis Posaconazole oral suspension loading dose: 100 mg (2.5 ml) on the first day, twice a day. Maintenance dose: 100 mg (2.5 ml), once a day. For 13 days. Oropharyngeal candidiasis refractory to itraconazole and/or fluconazole Posaconazole oral suspension 400 mg (10 ml), twice a day. The course of treatment depends on the severity of the patient’s underlying disease and clinical response.
