Olmesartan Medoxomil and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets

Olmesartan medoxomil hydrochlorothiazide tablets are a compound preparation of olmesartan medoxomil and hydrochlorothiazide. It is mainly used to treat hypertension in clinical practice, but it is not suitable for the initial treatment of hypertension. This product is generally used clinically for patients who are not ideally treated with olmesartan medoxomil or hydrochlorothiazide alone.

Olmesartan medoxomil hydrochlorothiazide tablets treat hypertension through the following mechanisms:

Olmesartan medoxomil is hydrolyzed into olmesartan after absorption. Olmesartan selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to some of its receptors, blocks its vasoconstriction effect, and regulates blood pressure.

Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic. The combined use of olmesartan medoxomil can reverse the potassium loss associated with diuretics.
