Effects and efficacy:
It is suitable for the prevention and long-term treatment of asthma in children aged 1-14 years and adults over 15 years old, including the prevention of daytime and nighttime asthma symptoms, the treatment of asthma patients who are sensitive to aspirin, and the prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. In addition, it can also relieve the symptoms caused by allergic rhinitis (such as sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose and nasal itching, etc.) in children over 2 years old and adults, including seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis.
Usage and dosage:
Children with asthma and/or allergic rhinitis aged 6-14 years: 5 mg once a day, taken before bedtime. Children with asthma and/or allergic rhinitis aged 2-5 years: 4 mg once a day, taken before bedtime. Patients with asthma and/or allergic rhinitis aged 15 years and over: 10 mg once a day, taken before bedtime. Prevention of exercise-induced asthma: A single dose of 10 mg is given orally at least 2 hours before exercise, and no additional dose should be taken within 24 hours of the last medication. Note: Asthma patients should take it before bedtime, and the efficacy is evaluated by asthma control indicators. Patients with allergic rhinitis should use it with caution. According to the FDA black box warning and the “American Allergic Rhinitis Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines (2015 Edition)”, montelukast can only be used as a first-line treatment for patients who are ineffective with conventional treatment, cannot tolerate nasal spray hormones or oral antihistamines, or patients with concurrent asthma. Montelukast is used in combination with corticosteroids. When the condition is alleviated, the dosage of hormones can be appropriately reduced. However, montelukast sodium cannot completely replace hormones. In addition, there is a certain association between montelukast and the risk of mental illness (such as agitation, sleep disorders and depression), and the patient’s mental state needs to be closely monitored during medication.
Drug contraindications:
Allergic to this product is prohibited and should be used with caution during lactation
