Effects and efficacy:
Mebendazole is used to treat single and mixed infections of pinworms, ascarids, whipworms, duodenal hookworms, strongyloides stercoralis and tapeworms.
Usage and dosage:
For adults, take 200 mg orally, take it all at once to treat ascariasis and pinworms; take 200 mg once, twice a day, for 3 consecutive days to treat hookworms and whipworms. If the first treatment is not effective, a second course of treatment can be given after 2 weeks. For children, take 100 mg orally once, twice a day, for 3-5 consecutive days. If necessary, you can retreat after 2 weeks to drive hookworms and whipworms.
Adverse reactions:
Very few patients may cause encephalitis syndrome, which is mostly delayed reactions, and neurological and psychiatric symptoms and signs gradually appear. Due to low absorption and rapid excretion, there are few adverse reactions. Very few patients have gastrointestinal irritation symptoms, such as nausea, abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, diarrhea, etc., and fatigue and rash may occur. Occasionally, exfoliative dermatitis and systemic alopecia may occur, which can all return to normal on their own. This product can transiently increase the activity of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and blood urea nitrogen.
Drug contraindications:
Allergic to this product is contraindicated for infants under 6 months old. Use with caution in patients with liver and kidney dysfunction. Use with caution during pregnancy. Use with caution during lactation.
