Function and indication:
Rotecept for injection is used to treat adult patients with beta-thalassemia who require regular transfusions of red blood cells (RBCs).
Adverse reactions:
1. Although this may be rare, some people may experience serious and sometimes even fatal side effects when taking the medicine. If you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to serious side effects, please tell your doctor or seek medical help immediately: · Signs of an overreaction, such as rash; hives; itching; redness, swelling, blistering or peeling of the skin with or without fever; wheezing; chest tightness or throat tightness; difficulty breathing, swallowing or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue or throat. · Signs of high blood pressure, such as severe or dizziness, fainting or vision changes. · Weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking or thinking, changes in balance, drooping of one side of the face or blurred vision. ·Contact your doctor immediately if you have signs of a blood clot, such as chest pain; coughing up blood; shortness of breath; swelling, warmth, numbness, discoloration, or pain in your legs or arms; or trouble speaking or swallowing. ·This medicine may cause high uric acid levels. If you have, swelling, or stiffness, contact your doctor immediately. 2. Other side effects: The side effects listed below are not experienced by many people or are minor. If these side effects or any other side effects bother you or cannot be eliminated, contact your doctor or seek medical help: headache; bone pain;; feeling dizzy, tired, or weak; cough; stomach pain or diarrhea; stomach upset; flu-like symptoms; signs of the common cold. 3. These are not all possible side effects. If you have questions about side effects, call your doctor.
Contraindications:
This product is contraindicated in patients with known severe overm of the ingredients in Reblozyl.
