Effects and efficacy:
It can be used to treat hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia. It can be used for the prevention and treatment of ischemic stroke. It is also suitable for the secondary prevention of coronary heart disease.
Usage and dosage:
When receiving this product, lovastatin capsules should be used with a standard cholesterol-lowering diet and continue to be used during the treatment. The general starting dose is 20 mg per day, taken once at dinner; if an adjustment is required, it should be taken at intervals of 4 weeks. The maximum dose can be up to 80 mg per day, taken once or divided into breakfast and dinner. The starting dose for patients with mild and moderate hypercholesterolemia is 10 mg. When low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) drops below 75 mg/100 ml (1.94 mmol/L) or total cholesterol (TC) drops below 140 mg/100 ml (3.6 mmol/L), lovastatin should be reduced. The common dosage of lovastatin tablets and lovastatin dispersible tablets for adults is oral medication, 20 mg (tablets) or 10-20 mg (dispersible tablets), once a day, taken at dinner. The dosage can be adjusted as needed, but the maximum dose does not exceed 80 mg per day. Note: This product should be taken with food to facilitate drug absorption.
