Effects and efficacy:
Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson’s syndrome, hepatic coma caused by acute liver failure.
Usage and dosage:
The initial dose for the treatment of tremor paralysis is 250-500mg/day, taken in 2-3 times; after every 2-4 days, the daily dose is increased by 125-500mg; the maintenance dose is 3000-6000mg/day, taken in 4-6 times; the effect is seen after taking the medicine for 2-3 weeks. If nausea occurs during the dose increase process, the increase should be stopped and increased again after the symptoms disappear. For the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy, 300-400mg/day, add 5% glucose solution to 500ml and drip intravenously. After fully awake, reduce the dose to 200mg/day, and stop the drug after 1-2 days; or use 5000mg of this product added to 100ml of normal saline for nasogastric feeding or enema. The elderly are more sensitive to this product, so it is necessary to reduce the dosage or follow the doctor’s advice.
Adverse reactions:
The adverse reactions of this product mainly include: Gastrointestinal adverse reactions: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, seen in the early stage of treatment, about 80% of patients; in severe cases, it can cause abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhea, and patients with gastric ulcers may have gastrointestinal bleeding; taking medicine after meals can alleviate this reaction. Cardiovascular system: 30% of patients may experience mild orthostatic hypotension in the early stage of treatment. And it can cause palpitations, arrhythmias, dizziness, and transient skin flushing. Mental and behavioral: Mental disorders are common, and insomnia, anxiety, euphoria, mania, hallucinations, delusions, agitation, paranoia, etc. may occur; when symptoms are severe, the dose should be reduced or the drug should be discontinued. “Switch” phenomenon: (“on”: the patient suddenly becomes restless; “off”: muscle rigidity and akinesia after restlessness) is more common in younger patients, and occurs in some patients more than one year after taking the drug. This phenomenon can be reversed or controlled by reducing the dose or intravenous injection of levodopa.
