Ipratropium Bromide Aerosol.

Effects and efficacy: Ipratropium bromide is mainly used for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema), which can relieve bronchospasm and wheezing symptoms. It can be used to treat bronchial asthma, especially for patients who cannot tolerate such drugs due to muscle tremors and tachycardia caused by beta-receptor agonists. This product can also be used in combination with inhaled beta-adrenergic receptor agonists to treat acute bronchospasm caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema). Usage and dosage: Ipratropium bromide aerosol inhalation, unless specifically prescribed by a doctor, the following doses are generally recommended for adults and children over 6 years old: Prevention and long-term treatment: 20-40μg once (20μg per press, 1-2 presses), 3-4 times a day. The total daily dose does not exceed 240μg; or 40-80μg once, 3-4 times a day. There is no sufficient experience in the use of aerosols for children under 6 years old, so aerosols can only be used under the supervision of a doctor. If the patient needs to gradually increase the dose, it should be confirmed whether other combined treatments are needed. At the same time, the total daily dose should not exceed 12 presses. Ipratropium bromide metered-dose aerosol can only be used for inhalation. The metered-dose aerosol must be used correctly to achieve a good therapeutic effect. It is necessary to ensure that the aerosol is not sprayed into the eyes. Children need to use this product under adult supervision. For inhalation, the ipratropium bromide solution is nebulized and inhaled. The dose should be adjusted appropriately according to the individual needs of the patient; the patient should be under medical supervision during the treatment. Maintenance dose: Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents over 12 years old: 3-4 times a day, 1 single-dose vial each time. Acute attack treatment: Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents over 12 years old: 1 single-dose vial each time; the patient can be repeatedly administered before the condition stabilizes. Please follow the doctor’s advice on the dosing interval. Each 1 ml of nebulized inhalation solution in the single-dose vial can be diluted with normal saline to a final volume of 2-4 ml, or it can be used in combination with Berotec nebulized inhalation solution. Patients should use this product correctly under guidance. Care should be taken to avoid the drug solution or aerosol from entering the eyes. Patients are advised to inhale the nebulized inhalation liquid through the nozzle. If the device is not available, a suitable nebulizer mask can be used. Patients with glaucoma tendency should be especially reminded to protect their eyes.
