Effects and efficacy:
Imiquimod is used to treat genital warts and perianal condyloma acuminatum.
Usage and dosage:
Take the medicine 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) before going to bed. Use the medicine reasonably under the doctor’s prescription to maximize the efficacy of this product. It is recommended to wash your hands before and after taking the medicine. Apply a thin layer of the ointment evenly to the wart-affected area, gently massage until the medicine is completely absorbed, and keep it for 6-10 hours. Do not seal the application site. Do not take a bath during the 6-10 hours of applying the ointment. After 6-10 hours, wash the medicine off the wart-affected area with clean water and neutral soap. Patients should continue to use the ointment until the wart is completely removed. The wart can be removed in 2-4 weeks at the fastest, generally in 8-12 weeks, and no more than 16 weeks at most. If there is mild erythema locally after taking the medicine, it is not necessary to stop the medicine and continue to use it. If the patient feels general discomfort or has a more obvious local skin reaction (such as more obvious edema, erosion, pain, etc.), the drug should be discontinued several times and continued after the reaction is alleviated.
