Effects and efficacy: Hydroxyurea tablets are effective for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and can be used for CML resistant to Myleran. It has certain effects on melanoma, renal cancer, head and neck cancer, and is effective in combination with radiotherapy for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck and cervix. Hydroxyurea capsules are mainly used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia, the accelerated phase and blast phase of chronic myeloid leukemia, polycythemia vera, and multiple myeloma. It also has certain effects on squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, recurrent metastatic ovarian cancer, and renal cancer. It can be used as a radiosensitizer when used simultaneously with radiotherapy to increase the efficacy of treating squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.
Usage and dosage:
Common dosage of hydroxyurea capsules for adults Chronic myeloid leukemia: The dosage can be determined according to the patient’s condition before medication and the level of white blood cell count. The general starting dose is 20-30 mg/kg per day according to body weight, taken orally once or twice. When the white blood cell count drops below 10 × 109/L, the dosage is reduced to about 20 mg/kg per day, and it is maintained orally or taken intermittently. Head and neck cancer, ovarian cancer, etc.: The dosage is 60-80 mg/kg per body weight, or 2000-3000 mg/m2 per body surface area, twice a week, taken alone or in combination with radiotherapy; it can also be taken orally once a day at 20-30 mg/kg per day. Hydroxyurea tablets are taken orally for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), 20-60 mg/kg per day, twice a week, for a course of 6 weeks; for head and neck cancer, cervical squamous cell carcinoma, etc., 80 mg/kg each time, once every three days, and must be used in combination with radiotherapy.
