Aprelet tablets are mainly used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and to improve symptoms related to benign prostatic hyperplasia. Aprelet tablets are a selective and non-competitive steroid type II 5α-reductase inhibitor, the main ingredient of which is 17β-(N-tert-butyl-amino-formyl)androsta-3,5-diene-3-carboxylic acid.

Aprelet tablets can inhibit the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone, reduce the concentration of dihydrotestosterone in the prostate, and reduce the size of the hyperplastic prostate. As the size of the hyperplastic prostate increases, it is easy to compress the urethra, causing the urethra to become narrow, thus causing urination difficulties; taking Aprelet tablets can inhibit prostate hyperplasia, thereby reducing the degree of urethral stenosis and avoiding symptoms such as urination difficulties, incomplete urination, dribbling urine, and urinary retention caused by urethral stenosis.
