Elemene Injection

Functions and indications:
Elemene oral emulsion: used as an adjuvant treatment for improving symptoms of esophageal cancer and gastric cancer. Elemene injection: used for the treatment of gliomas and brain metastases; adjuvant treatment of cancerous pleural effusions and ascites. Elemene emulsion injection: combined with conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy regimens for malignant tumors such as lung cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, brain tumors, bone metastases, etc., can enhance the efficacy and reduce the toxic side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It can also be used for interventional, intracavitary chemotherapy and the treatment of cancerous pleural effusions and ascites.
Usage and dosage:
The dosage and dosage of this product may vary for different dosage forms and specifications. Please read the specific drug instructions for use, or follow the doctor’s advice. Elemene oral emulsion: Oral, 20 ml at a time, three times a day, swallow in small sips on an empty stomach before meals, and take it for 4-8 weeks as a course of treatment, or follow the doctor’s advice. Elemene injection: 1. Glioma, brain metastasis: (1) Rapid intravenous drip of mannitol 250ml 30-60 minutes before medication to temporarily open the blood-brain barrier and reduce intracranial pressure. (2) Arterial intervention on alternate days: 600mg of this product each time, diluted by half with 10% glucose injection (total 60ml), add 2mg of dexamethasone for arterial puncture administration; 400mg of this product and 2.5mg of dexamethasone are added to 500ml of 10% glucose solution and intravenously dripped. (3) On the day of non-arterial intervention, 1000mg of this product and 5mg of dexamethasone are added to 1000ml of 10% glucose solution and intravenously dripped. 2. Cancerous pleural effusion and ascites: 200-400mg/m2 according to body surface area, after the pleural effusion and ascites are extracted, inject into the chest and abdominal cavity, 1-2 times a week or as directed by the doctor. Elemene emulsion injection: intravenous drip: 4-6 vials at a time, once a day, 2-3 weeks as a course of treatment. Used for the treatment of malignant pleural effusion and ascites; generally 2-4 vials/m2, after the chest and ascites are drained, intrathoracic or intraperitoneal injection, 1-2 times a week or as directed by the doctor.
Adverse reactions:
Elemene oral emulsion: 1. There may be gastrointestinal reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc., occasionally loss of appetite, decreased hemoglobin, leukopenia, etc. 2. Adverse reactions are mostly mild and do not affect treatment. Elemene injection: There is slight local irritation and pain after medication, especially when the drug solution leaks, but the patient can tolerate it. It is quickly relieved after hot compress and no special treatment is required. Some patients develop fever, local reactions and mild gastrointestinal reactions after medication. Elemene emulsion injection: Some patients may have phlebitis, fever, local pain, allergic reactions, and mild gastrointestinal reactions after medication.
Contraindications:
Elemene oral emulsion: It is prohibited for patients with high fever. Elemene injection: 1. Patients with a history of allergy or allergic to any of the ingredients in this product are contraindicated. 2. Patients with high fever, pleural effusion, and infection are contraindicated. Elemene emulsion injection: Patients with high fever, pleural effusion, and infection are contraindicated.
