Effects and efficacy: Captopril has the effects of lowering blood pressure and preventing heart failure. It is mainly used clinically to treat hypertension and heart failure. Usage and dosage: This product should be taken under the guidance or supervision of a physician. The dosage must follow the principle of individualization and be adjusted according to the efficacy. Common dosage for adults with hypertension: oral, 12.5 mg once, 2-3 times a day; if satisfactory efficacy is not achieved after 1 or 2 weeks, the dose can be increased to 50 mg once, 2-3 times a day. If the efficacy is not satisfactory, other antihypertensive drugs can be added. Please follow the doctor’s advice for details. Heart failure: Start with 12.5 mg orally once, 2-3 times a day, and gradually increase to 50 mg, 2-3 times a day if necessary. If further increase in dosage is required, it is advisable to observe the efficacy for 2 weeks before considering; for patients who have recently taken a large amount of diuretics, are in hyponatremia/hypovolemia, and have normal or low blood pressure, the initial dose is 6.25 mg 3 times a day, and then gradually increase to the common dose through testing. Common dosage for children to reduce blood pressure or treat heart failure: 0.3mg/kg per time, 3 times a day; if necessary, increase by 0.3mg/kg every 8-24 hours until the lowest effective dose.
