Benazepril and AmlodipineTablets(Lotrel)

Effects and efficacy: This product is used to treat hypertension, but not for the first-time treatment of hypertension. It is suitable for patients who cannot control their blood pressure satisfactorily by taking amlodipine or benazepril alone; or as an alternative treatment for taking amlodipine tablets and benazepril tablets at the same time.
Usage and dosage: The usual oral dose of this product is once a day, one tablet each time. Amlodipine is an effective drug for treating hypertension, once a day, with a dose of 2.5-10mg, while the effective dose of benazepril is 10-80mg. The same drugs produced by different manufacturers may have inconsistent instructions. If you find that the instructions of the drug are inconsistent before taking the drug, please consult a doctor or pharmacist in time.
Adverse reactions:
The adverse reactions of amlodipine benazepril tablets are usually mild and transient, and are not related to age, race and medication time. 4% of patients using the combination and 3% of patients using placebo need to discontinue treatment due to adverse reactions. The reasons for discontinuation of treatment in patients taking the combination are mostly cough and edema. 1% of patients using the combination experienced side effects that may be related to it, such as cough (3.3%), headache (2.2%), dizziness (1.3%) and edema (2.1%). Edema and some other side effects are dose-dependent with amlodipine, and the impact on women is more obvious than that on men. The combination of amlodipine and benazepril reduces the incidence of edema. Other side effects that may be related to the amlodipine/benazepril hydrochloride combination are: Angioedema: including tongue and face edema (see Precautions, Angioedema). Systemic: Weakness and fatigue. Central nervous system: Insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, drowsiness, tremor and decreased libido. Skin: flushing, fever, rash, skin nodules and dermatitis. Digestive system: dry mouth, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion and esophagitis. Metabolism and nutrition: hypokalemia. Muscle and bone: low back pain, myalgia, cramps and muscle spasms. Respiratory system: pharyngitis. Urogenital system: sexual dysfunction, such as impotence and frequent urination.
