Effects and efficacy:
Bronchial asthma, asthmatic bronchitis, obstructive pulmonary emphysema. Cardiogenic asthma, such as asthma caused by acute left heart failure.
Usage and dosage:
Common dosage for adults: 0.1-0.2g once, 3 times a day; if the patient’s condition is more serious, the dose can be appropriately increased, but not more than 0.5g once, and not more than 1.0g a day. Please follow the doctor’s advice for details. It is advisable to take the medicine with an empty stomach and a glass of water. If it is a sustained-release tablet, do not chew it and swallow it whole. Intravenous administration: It must be diluted before injection, and pay attention to the speed and dosage of administration to avoid serious adverse reactions due to excessive concentration or too fast speed. Common dosage for children: Children should take the medicine under the guidance of a doctor and adult supervision, and the dosage should be determined according to the weight of the child. Generally, 3-5mg/kg of body weight each time, 3 times a day. Do not increase or decrease the dosage at will during medication. It should be noted that if aminophylline is taken orally on an empty stomach (half an hour to one hour before a meal, or two hours after a meal), it is absorbed quickly, but it is easy to cause nausea and vomiting; taking it with or after a meal can reduce gastrointestinal irritation, but it is absorbed slowly. Therefore, please take the medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid consuming food or drinks containing caffeine, and inform your doctor in time if your eating habits change.
Adverse reactions:
Allergic reactions: Some patients may be allergic to aminophylline drugs. If symptoms such as skin itching, difficulty breathing, and accelerated heartbeat occur, you should seek medical help in time. Gastrointestinal reactions: If gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, abdominal pain, and poor appetite occur after oral medication, you can change to taking it with meals or immediately after meals, or take it with antacids (such as aluminum hydroxide), and closely observe whether the symptoms are relieved; if the symptoms persist and do not improve, you should inform your doctor in time. Cardiovascular system: It can cause a drop in blood pressure, tachycardia, arrhythmia, or aggravate the original arrhythmia symptoms. Nervous system: headache, restlessness, irritability, insomnia, etc. Excessive doses may also cause delirium and convulsions. Sedatives and hypnotics can be used together to prevent this.
