Acipimox Capsules

Effects and efficacy:
Acipimox can be used as an alternative or adjuvant therapy to reduce triglyceride levels in patients who cannot be adequately relieved by other treatments (such as statins or fibrates). It is suitable for hypertriglyceridemia (Fredrickson type IV hyperlipoproteinemia), high cholesterol and hypertriglyceridemia (Fredrickson type ⅡB hyperlipoproteinemia). It should be noted that this product can only be used after taking other measures such as dietary changes and other non-drug treatments (such as exercise, weight loss). It has not been proven that the use of acipimox to treat hyperlipoproteinemia can reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.

Usage and Dosage:
Acipimox is used orally, and the specific dosage should be followed according to the doctor’s advice. The same drugs produced by different manufacturers may have inconsistent instructions. If you find inconsistent instructions before taking the drug, please consult a doctor or pharmacist in time. The daily dose of this product can be determined according to the plasma triglyceride and cholesterol levels. The average daily dose is: 1 tablet each time, 2 to 3 times a day, after meals. Type IV hyperlipoproteinemia, 1 capsule each time, 2 times a day. Type IIB, III and V hyperlipoproteinemia, 1 capsule each time, 3 times a day. For special severe patients, the dosage can be increased according to the doctor’s advice. The total daily amount should not exceed 1200mg, and it can be taken safely for a long time. Patients with renal impairment: The dosage should be adjusted according to the creatinine clearance level. It can be administered according to the following regimen: creatinine clearance 80-40ml/min, one capsule per day; 40-20ml/min, one capsule every other day.
