Acarbose Tablets

Function:
In conjunction with dietary control, it is used to treat type 2 diabetes and reduce postprandial blood sugar in people with impaired glucose tolerance. On the basis of controlling lifestyle, patients with type 2 diabetes who are not overweight or obese can take the drug alone. If their blood sugar does not reach the control target value after 3 months, they can be combined with other oral diabetes drugs or insulin. For patients with type 1 diabetes who have unstable blood sugar control, it can be used in combination with insulin to stabilize blood sugar and possibly reduce the dosage of insulin. However, this product alone is not effective for patients with type 1 diabetes. Long-term use in patients with impaired glucose tolerance can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Dosage:
The tablets of this medicine can be swallowed whole immediately before meals, or can be chewed together with the first staple food; the chewable tablets of this medicine should be chewed with food; the capsules of this medicine should be swallowed whole immediately before meals. The recommended initial dose is generally 50 mg once, which can be gradually increased to 100 mg once, or 200 mg once if necessary, 3 times a day. If the effect is not obvious after 4-8 weeks of medication, the dose can be increased; if you still feel discomfort after adhering to a strict diabetic diet, the dose cannot be increased. If necessary, the dose needs to be appropriately reduced. The average dose is 100 mg once, 3 times a day. Please strictly follow your doctor’s advice to adjust the dosage.
