Usage and dosage:
The initial dose for the treatment of epilepsy in adults is 100-200 mg each time, 1-2 times a day; gradually increase the dose until the best effect is achieved (usually 400 mg each time, 2-3 times a day), and some patients need to increase to 1600 mg per day. Please follow the doctor’s advice for details. Children’s use is 10-20 mg/kg per day according to body weight. Under 12 months old, 100-200mg daily; 1-5 years old, 200-400mg daily; 6-10 years old, 400-600mg daily; 11-15 years old, 600-1000mg daily, taken in divided doses. Or children aged 4 years or younger, the initial dose is 20-60mg daily, and then increase by 20-60mg every other day; children over 4 years old, the initial dose can be 100mg daily, and then increase by 100mg every week. The initial dose for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia is 200-400mg daily, gradually increasing until the pain is relieved (usually 200mg each time, 3-4 times a day), and then the dose is gradually reduced to the lowest sustainable dose. Adverse reactions:
In the early stage of medication or when the initial dosage is too large or when taken by elderly patients, adverse reactions of the central nervous system (dizziness, headache, ataxia, drowsiness, fatigue, diplopia) may occur; gastrointestinal discomfort (such as nausea, vomiting) and skin allergic reactions.
