Risedronate sodium tablets are a class of bisphosphonate anti-osteoporosis drugs, and its main ingredient is risedronate sodium. Bisphosphonates are one of the most widely used and effective anti-bone resorption drugs. They are clinically used to treat and prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
During the perimenopausal period and within 10 years after menopause, bone metabolism is in a high-conversion state. Risedronate sodium tablets bind to hydroxyapatite in the bone and can specifically bind to the bone surface where bone remodeling is active, inhibiting osteoclast function, thereby inhibiting bone resorption, and can also reduce bone transformation and absorption at the site of bone remodeling, effectively reducing the risk of osteoporotic fractures and increasing bone density.
