Usage and dosage:
The common dosage for adults is oral administration, generally 5-10mg (1-2 tablets) at a time, 10-60mg (2-12 tablets) a day. Autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, nephrotic syndrome, ulcerative colitis, autoimmune hemolytic anemia: oral administration, 40-60mg (8-12 tablets) per day, and gradually reduce the dosage after the condition stabilizes. Drug-induced dermatitis, urticaria, bronchial asthma and other allergic diseases: Oral administration, 20-40 mg (4-8 tablets) per day, reduce the dosage after the symptoms are relieved, and reduce 5 mg (1 tablet) every 1-2 days. Prevent organ transplant rejection: Oral administration, generally 100 mg (20 tablets) per day 1-2 days before surgery, change to 60 mg (12 tablets) per day one week after surgery, and then gradually reduce the dosage. Acute leukemia, malignant tumors: Oral administration, 60-80 mg (12-16 tablets) per day, reduce the dosage after the symptoms are relieved. Allergic skin diseases, skin itching: Topical application, apply an appropriate amount to the affected area, 2-3 times a day. Do not use on broken skin. Oral administration for children: Children should be cautious when using adrenocortical hormones for a long time, because hormones can inhibit growth and development. Alternate day therapy (giving about 2 times the normal daily dose each time, once every other day) can reduce the growth inhibition effect. Please follow the doctor’s advice for details. In addition to being determined based on age and weight, the dosage of hormones for children should also be based on the severity of the disease and the child’s response to treatment. For the treatment of children with adrenocortical insufficiency, the dosage of hormones should be determined based on body surface area. If it is determined based on weight, overdose is likely to occur, especially in infants or short, obese children. Note: To avoid prednisone irritating the gastrointestinal tract, please take it with food or milk. If you take the medicine once a day, please take it in the morning. Long-term use of glucocorticoids must be closely observed, and the dosage and course of treatment must be strictly followed as prescribed by the doctor. After long-term or high-dose use, do not stop the drug suddenly or reduce the dosage too quickly. Please gradually reduce the dosage under the guidance of a doctor, and never stop the drug without authorization.
